Environmental policy.

Environmental Management System compliant with UNI EN ISO 14001:2015, with strategic governance of the ecological transition and the fight against climate change. English translation for information only – the Italian version prevails.

KH AUTOMOTIVE Srl (formerly Tecnologie Galvaniche Srl) originated within the Patrone e Mongiello Group through a demerger from Patrone e Mongiello Srl in 2001, and operates in industrial electroplating and in surface and chemical treatments for the automotive industry.

Market requirements and the needs of interested parties led the organisation to implement and certify over time an Environmental Management System in accordance with UNI EN ISO 14001. KH AUTOMOTIVE Srl has renewed and broadened its commitment by developing its Environmental Management System (EMS) in compliance with UNI EN ISO 14001:2015, integrating clear and strategic governance of the ecological transition and the fight against climate change.

In line with the scope of its EMS, Management aims to respond precisely to the complex needs of the global automotive market, offering the community increasingly eco-friendly products and services. The organisation is committed to constantly strengthening its actions so that production takes place with ever higher levels of compatibility with the local area, environmental safety and climate resilience.

KH AUTOMOTIVE Srl's efforts aim at environmental control that goes beyond mere compliance with current regulations, preventing pollution and safeguarding both the internal environment and the surrounding area.

The organisation's actions follow these programme guidelines:

Combating Climate Change and Decarbonisation

  • Energy Efficiency and Renewables: Progressively reduce the carbon footprint of production processes by optimising energy consumption and increasing self-generation from renewable sources through the company photovoltaic plant.
  • Mitigation and Adaptation: Identify and manage physical and transition risks arising from climate change, implementing adaptation measures to ensure the site's operational continuity and protect local ecosystems against extreme weather events.

Saving and Protecting Natural Resources

  • Efficient Use of Resources: Produce better while consuming less energy and raw materials, leaving future generations a less depleted and more liveable environment.
  • Protecting Water Resources: Minimise process water withdrawal by constantly improving water recycling and reuse systems.

Reducing Production Impact and Circular Economy

  • Process Innovation: Increase the efficiency of electroplating and chemical treatments by upgrading plants that are no longer technically competitive.
  • Sustainable Management of Chemical Baths and Waste: Strengthen predictive maintenance of chemical baths to extend their life cycle, reducing hazardous waste at source and promoting material recovery and recycling in a circular economy approach.

Climate and Environmental Monitoring, Measurement and Traceability

  • Continuous Monitoring: Constantly measure and monitor all environmental parameters: air emissions, wastewater discharges (maintaining a four-monthly frequency), quantities of waste generated and energy consumption.

Environmental Certification and Legal Compliance

  • Continuous Improvement of the EMS: Maintain and improve the Environmental Management System through periodic audits and certification by an officially recognised third-party body.
  • Deadlines and Obligations: Ensure maximum efficiency in checking and meeting legal deadlines, permit requirements and applicable standards.

Awareness and Involvement of the Value Chain

  • Company Culture: Inform, train and empower all internal staff on the environmental and climate impacts of their tasks.
  • Green Supplier Qualification: Rigorously integrate environmental sustainability and product carbon footprint criteria into the periodic assessment of suppliers of products, services and materials, promoting a responsible supply chain.

Management commitments

Management takes full responsibility for the effectiveness of the EMS and formally commits to:

  • Ensure that this Policy is understood, implemented and maintained at all levels of the organisation through ongoing training plans.
  • Ensure that all regulatory and legal compliance obligations are regularly met.
  • Provide the resources needed for the continuous improvement of environmental and climate performance.
  • Make this document available and transparent to internal staff and to all interested parties (Customers, Authorities, Local community).
  • Periodically review the EMS and this Policy to ensure they remain suitable for the company's strategic objectives and for developments in the automotive market.
